Ahead of the Bangladesh Digital Wages Summit to be held in Dhaka on November 20th, the leading brands issue an invitation to other companies and suppliers to support the scaling of digital wages in the country. Their goal is to promote the opportunity for workers in the garment supply chain to receive their salary and other payments digitally through a personal bank account, mobile money, or payment card solution instead of cash-based systems.

The summit is jointly held by the Access to Information (a2i) Programme of the ICT Division, Government of Bangladesh, supported by the Cabinet Division, Government of Bangladesh, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations-based Better Than Cash Alliance. The summit is also co-organized by Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) and Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), in collaboration with Gap Inc., H&M, Inditex and Marks & Spencer.
